Your hosts, Steve, Emma and their team, welcome you to The George Inn, a traditional Dorset thatched pub that is popular with locals and visitors alike.
After running several successful pubs for many years in Surrey, Steve and Emma worked at Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s River Cottage for five years and now combine these experiences to offer what they believe to be a unique Dorset pub experience.
Produce is bought daily depending on seasonality, from what is offered by nearby farms, caught in the sea, grown in the garden, foraged, shot or available at good local suppliers.
They take their drink seriously as well and in line with their ‘keep it local’ ethos, all of the cask ale is brewed by the award winning Palmers in Bridport brewery, just down the road. The wine list is well considered, sampling a good cross section of grape varieties that compliment the menu.
Enjoy the George Inn by the log fire at one of the cosy bars, the restaurant or, when the sun is shining, on the new terrace where you’ll also find a woodfired oven. Every Thursday is Pizza Night at the George. Cooking starts at 6 pm.
